Edinburgh Fringe Festival
If you're staying with us in August a trip to the Fringe Festival is a must, especially as there is lots of free street theatre that you just turn up for. It spans 25 days and features more than 55,000 performances of 3,548 different shows in 317 venue. There are performances to suit all tastes. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe has become a world-leading celebration of arts and culture, surpassed only by the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup in terms of global ticketed events

Edinburgh Castle was recently voted top UK Heritage Attraction in the British Travel Awards, this should be a must-see on your list of places to visit in Edinburgh.

National Museum Scotland
The National Museum of Scotland is one of the best indoor attractions in Edinburgh. It has over 20,000 unique artefacts, is fun for all the family and entry is completely free.

Arthur's Seat
Arthur's Seat is ancient volcano that sits 251m above sea level and offers breathtaking 360-degree views of Edinburgh and the Lothians. There are a variety of trails making it suitable for all.
Dynamic Earth
Dynamic Earth is a state-of-the-art, interactive attraction which takes visitors through history from the Big Bang to modern day. It is a fantastic attraction for the whole family to enjoy.

Glasgow
Often overshadowed by Edinburgh in people's perceptions, Glasgow should be on everyone's short list. World class museums, friendly people, wonderful architecture, great theatre and arts events and full of places to eat and drink. Home of the third oldest subway railway system in the world! Glasgow is said to be the biggest shopping centre outside of London.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
Kelvingrove has 22 galleries allowing you to discover everything from art to animals, Ancient Egypt to Charles Rennie Mackintosh and so much more. They also have a changing programme of temporary exhibitions and displays menaing there is always something new to see. General entry is free.

Glasgow Botanic Gardens
The botanic gardens are located in the heart of the city's West End and contains a variety of plant collections, woodland copses and riverside walks as well as the famous Kibble Glasshouse Palace.

Riverside Museum
Riverside Museum is Glasgow's award-winning transport museum. It has a large variety of interactive displays making it a great day out for all the family.

Glasgow Cathedral
The medieval Glasgow Cathedral has been in constant use for worship for over 800 years, and is of great architectural and historic interest. It is a stunning cathedral and is open to visitors throughout the year from 9.30am except Sundays when it is open at 1pm.
