The Falkirk Wheel
The Falkirk Wheel is the only one in the world and joins together two canals of differing height. An incredible piece of original engineering that has to be seen to be believed. It's also a great day out for all ages with boat trips, eating places etc. People travel from all over the world to see this!

The Kelpies
Quite simply the biggest equine sculptures in the world. Just a shortish drive from us and close to the Falkirk Wheel. An amazing site and especially so when lit up at night. Go and be amazed.

Scottish Sea Bird Centre
An incredible place to go and see the world's largest gannet colony on the Bass Rock via live video link – over 150,000 gannets at the peak time in summer! Or take a boat trip out to the Bass Rock and get so close you can almost touch them. On top of that there are puffins in early summer and seals with their pups in the autumn. Lots and lots to do for all the family. It is helped by the area having some of the lowest rainfall in the UK, miles of golden sandy beaches, good places to eat and some of the best ice cream you've ever tasted! Best of all it is an easy one and a half hour drive from Osprey Hideaways. We know the area extremely well and have been visiting it for more years than we care to remember.

Touring To Other Parts
From Osprey Hideaways it is possible to tour many incredible highland areas in an easy day's drive to the north. Similarly many of our guests drive across to the west coast for the day, stop for a seafood lunch at one of our favourite seaside pubs and come back via Glencoe – an incredibly scenic drive. We can tell you the best routes and where to stop for lunch or even that special photograph. We have an extensive knowledge of most parts of Scotland as we have spent most of our professional lives working and living here.
